One of the major advantages for users of SHMS is that resources are categorized, indexed, and described. This allows teachers, students, and faculty to search and discover open educational resources in a way that helps them find relevant materials.
If your organization is interested in importing large sets of resources, our curation team can work with you to indexing resources with keywords and metadata. Metadata, data that describes a resource, includes descriptors such as title, author, material type, and material license. Our team will explain the workflow and help ensure that your content is accurately described and indexed on the site.
Our team will share our site metadata schema and documentation with you, and assist in mapping your metadata formats to the SHMS schema so that your content can be searchable on our site.
Additionally, if you would like your organization’s content to be hosted on our servers, our team can help import your content onto the site via one of our authoring platforms (Open Author and/or the Module Builder).
